Frankfurt Christmas Markets : Birmingham

Monday 15 December 2014

Adventure day.... Mum, Aunty Janet and I hopped on the train to Birmingham to explore the Frankfurt Christmas markets, and have a look around the shops... Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, Next etc etc.

First stop, the coffee shop!!! A bit of caffeine to get us going :-))

Waterfall Chrissy decorations in the Bullring shopping centre...

A quick selfie of the three of us before we get going! Mum hiding in the middle, Aunty Jan on the right.

A view down to the church of St Martin

The twice life size bull sculpture by Laurence Broderick... dressed for Christmas as a Gingerbread Bull!!  Mum posing in the distance.

A walk through the Frankfurt Christmas markets....

Prost!!!  A little tipple to warm the cockles of our hearts!!

German Bratwursts being cooked... and indulged upon... to soak up the quite potent mulled wine!

Victoria Square with "Floozie in the Jacuzzi" statue...

Aunty Jan and Mum

We indulged in a crepe... unfortunately it wasn't cooked properly, and was quite doughy!!!

lots of people around indulging at the German bars for lunch time... The large property in the background is the Council House building

Mum chilling...

Really great day out.... I thought the German market was great, but a lot of the stalls were repetitive which was a little disappointing. However I did make a couple of purchases!!  Also disappointed in the clothes in the UK, quite fuddy duddy designs!!! Even people living here are disappointed in the clothing styles at present.  Think I will save my money till we get to Bangkok to purchase clothing.
